Welcome to the Grace Center
In September of 2005, Apostle Mondainé came to St. Louis and Grace Baptist with the intention of helping Pastor Allie Rains, the man who ordained him as the first black Southern Baptist pastor in the state of Missouri, to find a new senior pastor to take over the operations of the 47 year old church.
However God had other plans.
No suitable shepherd could be found to tend to the flock of 4 and the church was finally facing the seemingly unavoidable reality of closing its doors. Then the Holy Spirit spoke to Apostle Mondainé’s heart and bid him to expand the ministry in Portland, returning full circle to his home town of St. Louis and the very church wherein he was ordained.
Now after 1 year the building renovations are nearly complete, the congregation has grown, and the ministry has made significant impacts on the Hyde Park community, which many are now referring to as the “Grace” community.
Currently Pastor Dean Rocha, from Portland, Oregon, is overseeing the day to day operations along with Minister in Training Ryan Eiford. Apostle Mondainé and various staff from Portland fly to and from St. Louis at least twice a month.
Come join us and help be a part of this historical movement! You will find the Grace Center to be a church driven to make a difference in its community - where realness in God, honesty, acceptance, and genuine accountability are the way of life.
Come experience the difference.
